Make sure fleece is stapled before soaking with resin mixture. Fleece needs it to be where you need it to be and stretched as tight as possible. Then soak, then mat and then apply more resin mix to the mat. But if you let the soaked fleece dry before adding the mat you should sand it a bit because some resins can leave a waxy film once cured.

We didtn use fleece or anything else

That how my dad did derect onto the wood and in less than a minute he had it smoth to let it dry and work on the next one piece

And I was like 8 and know im 23 so I could be mistaking

ok one more b4 im gone lol, the fleece is great for getting contours and different shapes, its required to give it a baseline shape to build the mat on

Agh ok so i sand the kick panel with 80 grit sand paper then get strips of mdf as long as I need them mdf cutout as big as I need screw the strips onto the kick panel, screw the mdf cutout onto the strips stretch the fleece onto it tightly staple the fleece apply resin and hardener let it dry a bit but also sand it down some add Matt( still no idea what that is) apply resin and hadener to it sand it apply another coat sand that apply bondo to where I need or want it to shape it some sand that down with a 120 grit then it's good to go? Hope this one is right lol

After you sand your fleece you can put as many layers as you want without sanding in between. As long as it hasn't dryer you can add layers. But once it cures then you would have to sand it. But otherwise you've got it. Also one other question... Since you cover the mounting hole for he speaker with fleece resin and bondo do yu cut it out after or do you just not resin that part and cut out that part later when it's dry being that if yu didnt resin it it would still be clothy

I'm going to start redoing my doors in a couple days if I remember I'll take videos or pics of how it's done from a - z. I'm horrible at remembering to take pics but since there are so many steps in doing glass I'll remember to do it. Few tips when buying materials, don't buy a resin with wax in it. Make sure it comes with the catalyst (hardener or mekp, Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) Dont buy thick fleece or to thin, fleece stretches and super thick stuff is very hairy and soaks up the resin to much. Rubber gloves! Don't use like dixie or solo cups to mix resin in lol - bottom of a solo cup stuck to the bench at work from about 4 years ago. I use 2" cheap paint brushes by the box. But there are some really nice tutorials on SMD already, I've used several hints and techniques I've seen on here over the years. I just did some doors for Jason, lettuceschwag here on smd maybe he can post some pics of them.

look through timmy's section on here. groundpounder2k2 is his SN here. he's a fiberglassing BEAST and has so many threads with SO many pictures. that will show you the steps you need to do. it's a time consuming process, even the small projects. i'm about to start a small project, and plan on taking a couple weeks. but i don't work in a hurry. take your time with it
