TRON
yeah which is why I wondered if there are amps that will actually have good wattage at high impedance. RooTxBeeR
I actually noticed this with my car to. If I set the LPF on my subs to w/e I can still get damn lots of bass out of my sub with a Hz track that is well over what I set my filter to. Same with my 6.5's and 6x9's they play lower than the HPF. Decaf
45hz, really? so u like ur mids playing 20hz, yikes.
Guest
because HPF and LPF dont magically just completely cut off frequencies below/above what they're set at. its an attenuation. thats why you see 6db 12db 24db 48db etc. its Xdb decrease per octave. edit: 75hz HPF with an 18db slope. notice how 30hz will still play through? but its very attenuated edit 2: notice how 75hz is around -3db. the attenuation doesn't start exactly where it says its set. OrionStang
45hz, really? so u like ur mids playing 20hz, yikes. Can't hear 'em but its cool to watch. And its a 24db slope, they're fine. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Decaf
if you cant hear them then there is no point crossing that low, its fact. cool yes but wasted think lowest ive seen mids do well on was 63, and those we AA Polys with uber excursion i just run 80/100hz, they still can be heard playing ~60hz

TRON
Okay, but I still want to know how to completely cut out the lows going to my speakers...like a drop off, not a slope. OrionStang
It doesn't work that way unless you get into some pricey processors. Even then, the best you'll see is a 48db slope. You never said what your hpf was set to. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
TRON
120hz....im guessing a 18db slope. Quote Avalanche Alpine Type S comps Alpine Type S 10'' Alpine MPR-F300 Alpine MRX-M50 Mechamn 270 XS Power d3400s
