Amart88 Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Well I just ran my 2 1/0 ground runs from my trunk batt to my engine compartment. i will be attaching them onto the alt mounting bolts. Should I put both on one bolt or one on each? and do I need to sand the alt where to bolt goes to bare metal? Thanks My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.

Wouldn't it be easyier to run it to the engine block? There are extra bolt holes there for a reason. But to answer your question if the if you car is a unibody then a ground on the same bolt is the same as anywhere. There arent and accessable unused bolt holes in my engine and the alt bracket is more direct.. i think. I will be grounding to the body in the trunk also but I want as much current flow as I can get. 01ExSport Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 I was actually just going to post something related to this, I wasn;t sure if Mechman had an anti-corrosion coating on their alternators. I overlooked that when putting it in, and it'd be a pain to take it back out, haha.
