sounds like voltage drop what is your electrical like 2500 is way over most stock alternators a good amp does a descent bandage but big 3 will work wonders for the time being also a bigger alternator will help

also what the volume at --/max

that amp has a mosfet power supply. If your voltage drop to low then the amp will heat up trying to create that wattage on low voltage and amperage. Basically it working harder to create power. gotta get your power right. big 3 is a start. alternator, battery, etc.

Negative. I've got one and it's indeed 1 ohm stable.

OP: So when you say it cuts out, is it going into protect mode, is the amp still powered up when this happens or does it lose all power?

my amp is grounded to the rear seat. i sanded it all down. from wat i read these trucks have a very solid frame

Hey man I have been running a rub2500.1 for about a little over a month but the amp has a input voltage switch and you got ".1-2v" and "2-8v" what position is that switch in? I have mine running right about 1.7v and it runs a little warm and my volume is 35/50. If your running a really low input voltage like .8-1v you could be having heat troubles at low volumes from that.

My amp also is grounded to the rear seat bolt. It's on the seat frame that is closest to the drivers side rear door. I will be upgrading it to a frame ground in the next few days and I can update you on how that helps the heat when I do it. It's been raining and I haven't wanted to lay on the wet ground to do it but when it dries out I'll have it done

Where my finger is pointed to is the Input sensitivity switch and has 2 options ".1-2v" & "2v-8v". I have noticed the lower you run the input voltage the warmer the amp becomes.
