ok so i got a soundstream rub1.2500 and i have a fi btl 2 ohm wired to 1 ohm. latley my amp gets REALLY hot and then shuts down, after a while it turns back on.

my question is why? if its a 1 ohm stable amp

Nobody can shed any light on my question?

From what I know those are only 2ohm steady

my bad, Chevyboy95, I dont have one of those amps just have a buddy with one and thought he said it was 2ohm..... and noser7 he is saying that it can go into thermal protect because the temp in your area so what city and state are you in

sounds like voltage drop what is your electrical like 2500 is way over most stock alternators a good amp does a descent bandage but big 3 will work wonders for the time being also a bigger alternator will help

Check grounds and connections? Poor voltage at the amp because of bad connections will certainly make it clip/heat up
