Get rid of the cap, get rid of the rear speakers, and tell us the results.

black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp

OEM head unit, Amplifiers Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200.

Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats.

2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a 2.6 ft3  ported box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.

polk speakers are pretty quiet. i dont think removing speakers would be a good option.

curious as to why you think he should take them out?

Maybe to go easy on the head unit ? And because you can't even hear them in the back.

I think it's a waste of power and money, unless you're going for a big demo car and you need a lot of speakers to play with doors open, with a huge bass.

I'm not an expert, I just speak off my own experience. I used to have rear speakers, until I noticed that I did not need them. I changed those rear speakers several time but I was never able to appreciate them while driving.

Anyone else have any thoughts on that problem with the speakers distorting after some time of listening.....taking the cap out tomorrow...haven't been driving the car....

Also...thinking about getting 2 RE SSX's 12's....and a new box....sealed or ported?

well i have not ran the sxx? 12s but i have ran RE audio srx 12s in a port box @32hz and it hit hard! on 1k
