The snow's a fallin' here in Denver already............ :(

Time to speed things up.

I pulled out the rear deck lid and the fiberglassed port extension piece is holding great.

Time to flip it over and really bond the two pieces together.

Saw a lot of people using "kittyhair" and was intrigued.

During my past purchase of resin, I saw a tub of fiberglass strands and figured, hey I can make my own......

Well..........I'm not sure how kittyhair lays down, but I wasn't impressed with my home-brew.

Looked more like I killed the damn Grinch and put him in a blender....... :peepwall:

The new mixture stuck to the plastic scrappers I was using to apply it more then anything.

Took quite a bit of effort to get it off the scrappers and onto the rear deck lid.

We'll see how it sets up but I'm probably going to lay a bit of fiberglass over the filler to help bond everything together.

I also want to strengthen up the rear deck lid so it isn't so flimsy, especially with a bunch of smoothed out body filler on the top.

Wouldn't want it to flex and crack.

Thanks Trevor! :good:

Couple little updates while I'm posting.

Taped around the port opening to hold in any leaky resin.

Time for some Sunflash.

Looking better and better man. Love the car

Fuck thats gonna look tits. It's getting smoother!!! Go go go

Thanks Guys!

Yep, its getting close......finally :D

That damn body filler is tough to apply smooth though. It always seems to go down in waves or it starts sticking to the plastic spreaders and the surface gets pitted and rough.

Its tricky to limit yourself on how much filler you end up applying.

You really have to focus on sanding down the high spots rather then adding new filler to cover the low spots since the added filler creates even more low spots that tempt you to keep adding.......... :trippy:
