Noobtastic14
Today I felt productive and decided to do something about my power/ground distribution disaster. I used a stick of Aluminum from Lowes 1" wide by .25" thick as well as a handful of Allen bolts and a spacer to allow the bolts to pass through the bar without hitting the box if needed. Cut them to 8" long Drilled and tapped with a 3/8th and 1/4th threw them in the trunk and plugged up wires! They are nor perfectly straight, Unfortunately I don't have a drill press on the patio. buttoned back up! -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Noobtastic14
Thanks! It also adds flexibility for future amp combinations without having to mess with the wiring as much. -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. SnowDrifter
what the difference between copper and aluminum buss bars One is made of copper, and one is made of aluminum But actually: Aluminum is cheaper Copper is more conductive Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Noobtastic14
At my level? nothing. At some point the conductivity becomes a factor where copper or various other metals can handle electrical load better than aluminum. But, for people like me I don't think it is much of an issue. -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional.
