need help with running rcas

I have a pioneer avh 2300dvd and I have my 4 channel hooked up and I want to hook up my mono amp. What is the easiest way to hook up the rcas to the headunit? Should I use y splitters? If so how to I do that

hook them into the output of your 4 channel amp. or spliters will work too

Will that work if it's high passed at the HU?

OP try to use the output on the 4 channel like he said but make sure to set the high pass filter from the amp and leave it off on the head unit.

Well in more detail I have 2 sets of rcas ran to my 4 channel. I have one more set of rcas. So do I use y spliiter at the headunit or in the rear?

So your saying run a nother set of rcas from the 4channeloutput straight to the mono? Won't that sound different?

i never understood buying a head unit with less than three preouts.

If your 4ch amp has outputs on it then use those to go to your sub amp and use the built in pre-amp for crossover settings, you'll lose any control you have at the H/U but it will let you hook it up without having to run more rca's.

If your amp does not have output's then you'll have to split one of the rca's to go to the sub amp.

EDIT: Use the front split for the 4ch and the rear for the sub and you'll have sub control from the H/U.
