2nd battery - overcharge?

Recommended Posts

I bought a Kinetik hc600 recently and in the included paperwork it warns me not to overcharge it. i've never installed a second battery before & was just planning to hook it up near the subs amp in the rear going off of the +/- going to the amp. is it more of a process then that? for some reason the battery dudnt come with any instructions.

you will need to connect the front and rear batteries together. how else are you going to maintain a charge? that litlte thing wont last long at all on just battery power.

I think people used to use battery isolators, but no one does anymore i dont think, just Run power to the rear battery and the ground to the chassis. I dont think you can overcharge the battery off of the alternator. They must be talking about using a battery charger because you will probably need to fully charge it before installing.

or charging it over a certain voltage off of the alternator?? (ive seen some ppl have their H.O. alts set with like a 15.3 or so charge at idle)
