Camshaft question?

Good to know. I thought they only sold parts.lol...I'm not trying to build an all out race engine, I just want a bit more "umph" from it, & since I need to change my timing chain, I thought why not change the original cam & chewed up lifters(truck was ran on LOW oil for a while by the previous owner) .

You should be good then.... Just make sure that your intake springs go back on the intake valves, and exhaust valves go with the exhaust springs

I'm just worried about this cam providing too much lift for the stock valvetrain. I don't want to run into anymore problems with the engine anytime soon. :/

How much more duration/lift are you increasing compared to stock?

Give Summit a call and ask them for advice about if they would suggest installing new valve spring along with the cam, and of course since they are in the business of making money, they will try to sell it to you regardless lol... But ask them what the pros and cons are of installing new springs or using the old ones.

Start off with:"is it ok to use stock valve springs with (insert cam info here), on a ford 7.5L engine"

Then ask about the benefits of using the spring package that I linked above

How many miles are on those springs? Original springs?

Ugh, I'd have to pull the heads again! - _ -

I will definitely check in with a few companies & see what they say. I don't know what the truck had been through prior to '07, so idk if they are the original springs.

Short answer is Yes.When running an aftermarket cam,sometimes lift ratios can get extreme enough to need heavier springs.Rockers are not always needed,but again depend on lift and duration ratios,also note that their are different ratios of rocker as well that will change lift stats.Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer of your cam and follow their recommendations.
