Secondly after reading thru the comments, legally there is some weight, not sure what the state laws are in Cali, but here you as an employee can't touch the customer under any circumstance, if you see shop lifting you are to try to keep the person in the store until the cops arrive. If the person leaves then you take down vehicle info and as much information as possible. Reason being, what would you guys at the shop have done if in this guys waist band he pulled out a gun? Just charged him, bump rushed him and tackled him and risked being shot? I let the police do that, they get paid to get shot at not me. Anyway, just some outside eyes looking in and providing state laws here which may or may not apply to you fellas. Nice work anyway!!!
