Smith 686 .357 mag. Pre-1994, unsure of year just know it doesn't have the lock in the frame so it's pre 1994.

But I pick it up on Friday, super excited

i have shot 1 of those once , after the first shot my ears were ringing pretty bad and it was a tough gun to hit anything with .

if you run out of bullets it would probably make a good club

Hearing protection, man! :P

All of them I've shot were damn accurate. But yeah, it's heavy and would make a good club too lol

Maybe the sights on the one you shot were off, or perhaps you were sending fliers because you were anticipating the recoil... these S&W wheel guns are very accurate.

The lock frame doesnt date this to pre 1994. The internal lock was introduced in 2001.

I can tell from your picture tha this gun has the firing pin attached to the hammer which means it's a pre 1998 and the fact that it is not pinned and recessed means it was after 1982.

The 686 was 1st introduced in 1980.

Without the serial number we can saythis gun was made between 1982 and 1998!

Just sayin' lol

Nice, info, thanks.

Here's mine. Refinished the grips today, can't decide if I like the matte finish or if I want to put a gloss clear coat on.

Bought a Pelican 1170 case for it, I'm not the best at cutting out foam, but it fits.
