VaNQuisH Posted May 21, 2012 Author Report Posted May 21, 2012 Why wouldn't it? How much port can I fit in this size box exactly? This is how I'm calculating but I may be wrong.... L- Shape slot port below: Depth = 13" Total - 0.75" (back wall) - 1.25" (Port width) = 11" NET Width = 19" - 0.75" (Side Wall) - 1.25" (End of port clearance) - 1.25" (The above port area already used) = 15.75" NET Net total usable port area = 16.75" Currently: * Hybrid Audio Legathia 3-Way Active Front Stage * (2) Morel Ultimo 12's * (2) Arc Audio 1100.1 XDi v2 (Strapped @1ohm) * (1) Arc Audio 1200.6 * RF 360.3 DSP
john253a Posted May 21, 2012 Report Posted May 21, 2012 13 deep 19 wide= 12.25x17.5= useabel = 29.25" of port
VaNQuisH Posted May 21, 2012 Author Report Posted May 21, 2012 Thank you very much. I can finally get started on this now Currently: * Hybrid Audio Legathia 3-Way Active Front Stage * (2) Morel Ultimo 12's * (2) Arc Audio 1100.1 XDi v2 (Strapped @1ohm) * (1) Arc Audio 1200.6 * RF 360.3 DSP
john253a Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 if i were you idd tune it closer to 33hz and not 35hz you will be more happier with the out come, i was and how much power do you plane to through at it as the flattest response is 0.6 @33hz
john253a Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 just another option you may wish to consider i also allowed for bracing but haven drawn then in
john253a Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 if your going to over power it 0.5 or 0.6 @33hz is the way to go i would go any bigger then 0.6 @600rms if it was mine
Joe X Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 OP just make sure that the inner end of the port stays 1 1/4 away from the sidewall or your inner end port area will be lower than in the external end.
LumberZach Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 Will this work? Everything seems like it should, but want to get it verified before I fire up the table saw. If my calculations are correct, the port should just fit inside the box. This will be going into a boat where space is limited.
