SKS = fun range toy, not much more really.

SKS = Poor choice for home defense, Gonna go through whoever you shoot at, through the walls, and possibly into other peoples houses, etc... For the same money, you coud've bought a decent HD style pump 12ga and had a much more versatile, more effective weapon for the task at hand.

For those asking about 922r compliance, heres a nice simple breakdown of it normal language:

Before you do anything look into the 922 compliance. You'd have to mod a ton of stuff to keep it compliant and its really not worth it. I'd leave it alone it'll never be tactical or a tack driver. It will throw countless shitty rounds down range cheaply though.

That it does. A crate of 1,000 cold-war era 7.62 rounds is only about $140.

Try $240.

I just bought a Ukrainian SKS that was never issued and never fired. Naturally I put a few down range and like the gun, I will be keeping it in my closet for home defense.

Anyone here have recommendations?

do not use as home defense. never ever use it in your home it will go through the thief through the wall and to the next house maybe killing other people. shotguns are best for home defense just don't use slugs either
