I get like 3 mins of full tilt a day. It's not that difficult, unconventional, or roundabout. You can turn the gain down bit you can never turn the gain beyond what's set on the amp. It is stupid to set your amp gains at max, and then use the knob to turn it down. The only difference between the correct way and your way is that maxxing out the knob should not max out the gain on the amp. And its dumb to set it up that way.
