4th order and ported

Recommended Posts

just curious as to what is the difference in sound between 4th order and ported. to make it a little easier let's say that the 2 boxes are being compared in my truck on a Skar SK-1500 with 2 VVX15s.

Getting loud is only half the job;sounding good while doing it is where the glory is.1998 Jeep CherokeeHead Unit: Pioneer AVH-P6300BTFront Stage: Kenwood 6.5Rear Stage: kenwood 6.5Tweeters: SoundstreamMids/Highs amp: Hifonics Zeus 600.4Sub Amp: Hifonics BRZ2400Subs: 4 Skar VVX 10s(only running 2 now; still has all of them though)Batteries: Optima Red Top(under the hood)XS Power D1200(in the trunk)0 AWG Power Wire

My personal experience with the same sub and amp in a ported and 4th order was the 4th had noticible increase in punchiness and smoother low end, I'm assuming just due to the sealed portion and the added control of the cone it adds. This was with a 18" SP4 and a SAZ-3000

Either sealed or 4th would be better than ported for that model imo. However if u did a 4th with its specs, your box would have to be very very large....and peak around hi 20s to 30 Hz and not have much 50-60 Hz range unless the S of the box was lowered which would lower sound q and degrade low end.

4th order + sundown sticker on the window = one loud ass truck!

How big should said sticker be? The entire width of the window right? Maybe even wrap it around the outsides of the B-pillars?

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

the bigger the louder. if you really wanna make the ladies jizz and get loud enough to knock earth off its axis, put a DC audio sticker on it too.
