Ernesto
Quick question Steve...How many layers of MDF did you lay on the top? I see 1 layer on there where the subs are actually on and then another layer to give it that "flush" look. Is that other layer on there just to give it that flush look or does it also prevent flexing.
meade916
i would say it prevents flexing some but there is also 5 gallons of fiberglass and lots of mat.....and TONS of bracing so that combo seems to work great. You could put pennies on teh box and bump it hard and they wont move. Very solid. Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
yes but it also helps so yes technically its two layers on top. Thats not JUST decoration. It serves a purpose too. 2000LaDe
this box is a great piece of artwork man. alot of work and it turned out great. about how many days total did u spend working on it? counting lettin the resin and stuff dry. just curious what i should be expecting. im doin my whole install from scratch and as soon as i seen this box on ROE i wanted to do something similar with a changable port for either spl or daily. great idea. very few times have i seen a setup that the ports can be changed besides some of the changable aeroports.oh and i have a question about your batteries. i have 4 kinetik hc2400s i was wondering how the length difference is on ur odessy's compared to the hc2400's. im not sure if i could fit 4 across or not.keep up the great work. love the escalade EXT. that box is another piece of art. an expensive one at that haha. meade916
nothin wrong with the old box....that was the one i took to world finals in 04'. I did the same numbers im doing now but can you believe only 75" of port for 4 18's thats 6 4" Aero's. I also really didnt like that i could only see two when i look back there. Theres something cool about seein 4 18's get up out the box at the same time. When they were sideways i always had that lopsided feeling about it Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Gavin
Steve, First, the box looks great! I wanted to ask you about the inside setup and resin.. Did you just use the whole 5 gal. of resin alone or did you fiber glass and resin the inside?? Also, is resin supose to be very thick with the hardner added? As you can see, I just started learning about resin so I'm a bit lost.. is there a way to think this stuff out or I'm not supose to? =V^I gotta try that 45 degree angle thing you did.. I think I may need some more resin. Waiting to hear from you. until then take care and GOD BLESSGavin Quote www.competitionsoundz.comTeam R&RTeam MaxxsonicsTeam DC AudioTeam PowermasterTeam KinetikHooker car audio
