rcas or high level

First of all, if this is considered a vs thread go ahead and lock it. I didn't think it was a traditional vs thread and couldn't find the answer.

Anyways, I'm getting ready to get a rockford pbr300x4. This amp accepts both high level and low level inputs. I already have high level cables run to my trunk but am not sure if I should use them or replace them with rcas. I would have to purchase a high-to-low level converter or the rca cables which ever way I go so cost is not a problem. I am just interested in which option will get better sound quality?

Next, if I go the rca option I know it causes interference if you run signal cable next to the power wire; but does it cause interference if you run the rcas next to the speaker wire going from the trunk back to the doors?

Does your headunit have RCA Preouts? If so I would use the rca's.

Signal noise is no issue if you have RCAs with good shielding. I've never had a problem just using RCAs but I run them away from any power wire (including harnesses under my dash.

Yes, I have a Pioneer DEH-P7400HD; it has 3 sets of 4v preouts so that is not a problem.

I would 100% use the pre outs on the headunit. they have a half decent voltage aswel so thats a plus. Ive never had any luck running converters, and im always scared they are inducing distortion.

Using the rcas would work better with less distortion since with the high level the amp is amplifying and already amplified signal from the HU while with the rcas it is an unamplified signal meant to be as clean as possible
