_Vince
So I'm in a predicament where I can get two different types of batteries (3) XS3100 or (6) Blue-Top Optimas. I was told that the 6 Optimas will actually be better than the 3 XS because it's more reserves, but I'm not to positive on if that is true nor have I heard anything on that. So pretty much, I need to get pointed in the right direction on whether to go with 3 XS3100 or 6 Blue-tops? (System will be daily as well as competed) I know the specs on the XS are much better than the Optimas, but will more Optimas equal no clipping due to voltage? Lbox88
Get the XS. Blue tops are meant for long draw, lower current applications such as a trolling motor or RV, not a fast discharge like XS. UBL | Build Log
SnowDrifter
What size blue top? What size alternator do you have? I don't have any hands on experience with the blue tops, but I have heard they don't do so well in the automotive world - something about how they aren't designed to be hooked up to an alternator. Hopefully someone can confirm or deny this ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
