Amart88
I have a weird sound coming from over the front drivers side tire. It does it at idle. It sounds like when you pull up a zipper except it's constant until you rev the motor. and sometimes it fluctuates. Almost like a zippery whining sound. It has always done it but I just seem to be noticing it more now for some reason. I've asked people and they go oh It's nothing. Just would like to know what it could be. Almost like something spinning. Engine is an Ecotec 2.2L 2006. Thanks Quote My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.
bassface
Maybe constant velocity joint if its a front wheel drive.
Baydestrian
How could it be the CV Joint if it makes the noise at idle and goes away when you rev it lol. How do the belts look? R James Trapp
Check the power steering fluid level. Sounds like a belt or the pump might be making noise. Go to the parts store and grab a can of belt dressing and while it's idling spray the belts. If it goes away, you found it. Sometimes the power steering pumps growl meaning low fluid or pump going bad. If you see fine silvery metal in the fluid, then that means the pumps on its way out. bassface
I thought since it was the wheel it may have been in gear at idle.
R James Trapp
The belts tend to sound like a clicking sound and do go away at higher rpm. The belt dressing or a spray bottle with soap and water in it will tell you if it's the belt. The soap and water will go away and the noise will come back, the belt dressing sometimes will quiet it up permanent or it will come back depending on the condition of the belts. R James Trapp
If its doing it while not moving the car, then it's got to be a pump or belts.
