I'm curious I have some pc fans to use for my amp to keep it cool but how should I power them, I've heard the remote wire is a bad idea but idk

1998 Pontiac grand prix gtp supercharged2 12" Obsidain Audio V.1 on a 2011 zx1500.1 at 2 ohms. 20ft of Knuconceptz CCA 0 Guage. 2nd Battery is a Shurken BT-120. Box is 3.5cu tuned at 31.8hz sealed off from the trunk. 14sqft of Dynamat on the Rear deck top & bottom. Soon to be more for doors/roof. Gets low & loud

Did a 140.5 Sealed at Battle of the boom in June 2013 dropping to 12.7v (need a alt mines going bad)

I was going to do the same...but not power straight from remote wire.

Run a relay for your remote wire...then wire the fans to the relay and bingo. I think that would be the simplest...and they sell relay and plugs at any autoparts store.

I think theyre pretty neat. When the water runs down your crack as you let one out... its like shitting in a crockpot.

You could buy a kit and wait on shipping or go to the auto parts store tell the guy you need a simple relay to turn on some pc fans..and get the relay with a matching socket so its easy to wire. There are tons and tons of links online to show you how to wire a relay...its simple. I use a relay to turn on my 4 offroad lights and fog lights with a single switch...that way the switch doesnt have to handle 330watts.

fans hooked up to relay. Relay hooked up to battery. Relay triggered with remote wire or temperature sensor (like i am going to use). Do NOT run the fan directly off the remote. Use a relay. You can even use a toggle switch if you want but i don't recommend that.

why is this? i have always thought about connecting a switch to the remote before it gets to the relay. just to give me control of everything...
