boom50cal Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 Man that's a sure enough healthy sounding modular motor... Just watched a video of the XL 10's and 5k you had in it at one time. From all the different setups you've had in this car, which is your favorite overall? And, does the extra weight in the trunk help you hook up at all? OrionStang Posted January 5, 2013 Author Report Posted January 5, 2013 Favorite was the wall. Best practical had to be between the xl 10's and the single Mayhem 12. The shocks, springs, and rear control arms have all but eliminated wheel hop. The little bit of wheel spin I get at launch is manageable, and 1-2, 2-3 shifts only chirp a little thanks to the lower control arms. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
OrionStang Posted January 5, 2013 Author Report Posted January 5, 2013 Got around to removing the subs and baffle. Free-air tested the subs to find the rattling noise, and it is lead slap. They are hitting the cone and the spider, and most of the noise seems to be from the spider side, as the cone side has felt pads. Also noticed these only have one very soft spider, I can actually see through it LOL. I guess thats what makes them work in an IB environment. Low power and soft suspension. Gonna go out and free-air the Havoc sometime today. AA said it checked out, want to make sure. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
