Daniel J Blitch Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 Hey Guys, I am running 1 1/0 cable each from the the positive and negative side of my front batteries to the back batteries, I will have the stock alternator, that being said it is a diesel so it has two large front batteries and I will be needing to purchase the back batteries, I was looking for some guidance on what size batteries I might need with the following amps, Mb Quart ONX 2000D, Mb Quart ONX 125.4 and Mb Quart ONX 80.4. I am going to be running the 125.4 at 2ohms so it will be running at 250.4. The main concern I have is one run of 1/0 front to back enough? Thanks! Building an Empire.
n8ball2013 Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 whats your alternator rating. in theory you only need one run unless you have more than 300 amps of alternator. mayn people help stabilize voltage drop with multiple runs though. you will probably be very close to your max current draw but i am not looking at the ratings. It is a 105Amp alternator, I am looking at putting a 180Amp or 200Amp ACDelco alt in. I believe going to a DC power 275amp Alt would be overkill with what I am wanting to do at this time. I would like some guidance on what size batteries or battery in the back though. Building an Empire.

Or you could run 4 3400s if you like to match. for your alternator there is no such thing as overkill really. Plus I am like you, I like to have a lot of reserve just in case that I need it, then need more and not have it. Building an Empire.
