Ever looked at your speaker's impedance curve? Definately not only one value of resistance. Factor in impedance rise and wire resistance as duct_tape mentioned at it would be a wee bit higher. Cheers, Mick Well I guess I mean which number than should I look for when trying to pair the subs to an amp...should I pay more attention to the rms of the amp at 1 ohm or 2 ohm...Get what I'm saying or are you guys just trying to yank on my chain! I'd like to pair the subs up to an amp but don't want to overpower or underpower...seems as if I should look more at the 2 ohm rms output...? Quote

Depending on the amp, it might work good and do a good clean signal, might do a horrible clipped signal. Who knows? Lol. I say find an amp that's 1-ohm stable just for the sake of it.
