aquill1
Which ohm load does a 1.34 fall under. Is that considered 1 ohm or 2 ohm at the amp? Thanks!
Aaron813
I think it is considered 1.34 not 100 percent sure on that one though Edited December 31, 2007 by Aaron813
duct_tape123
It would probably be closer to 2 ohm because of wire length and such. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Edited December 31, 2007 by duct_tape123
MickyMcD
Funnily enough, it is 1.34 Ohm. Amplifiers do not need to be run at exactly 1,2,4,8,16 ohm etc. In fact, they almost never are. Ever looked at your speaker's impedance curve? Definately not only one value of resistance. Factor in impedance rise and wire resistance as duct_tape mentioned at it would be a wee bit higher. Cheers, Mick Well I guess I mean which number than should I look for when trying to pair the subs to an amp...should I pay more attention to the rms of the amp at 1 ohm or 2 ohm...Get what I'm saying or are you guys just trying to yank on my chain! I'd like to pair the subs up to an amp but don't want to overpower or underpower...seems as if I should look more at the 2 ohm rms output...? kingsuv
Look for an amp thats rated at 1.34 ohms I would look at an amp rated at 1 ohm it will be more stable then an amp rated at 2 ohm but running at 1.34 Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
AP Zoutes
you can take the amp ouput at 1 ohm and divide by 1.3 ie 2000w at 1 = 1540 at 1.
aquill1
Thanks AP for the help... So kingsuv if I bought an amp that was only 2 ohm stable than what would happen smart arse!? Forbid I match the subs up to a proper wattage amp, that probably doesn't make too much sense to you does it? Depending on the amp, it might work good and do a good clean signal, might do a horrible clipped signal. Who knows? Lol. I say find an amp that's 1-ohm stable just for the sake of it.
