Your Equipment vs. Your Ride

Hahaha! This is a good one.

I got my van given to me by my grandmother- but it may be "worth" $1k or so. System... psh- I don't want to think about it. Easy 4-5 times that.

paid 1100 for my jimmy

have over 1500 in electrical

275a singer alt (powder coated black)

4 xs power batts (3 d975s and 1 d925)

75ish feet of 1/0

2 sets of cadence components

cheap 4 channel amp

100+ square feet of fat mat

36 sq ft of stinger road kill

pioneer head unit

all new carpet on the headliner, doors, hatch, and floor

and countless bottles of great stuff

still need the subs amps and box yet :)

how did that false floor go btw... I just did mine. I figured that bolts would be a bitch to do by myself so I just did some long fat screws to go through the floor.... the current result

It's going nowhere but I have nowhere to access the spare

Bought my car for 800. Put another 200 into it = 1000. I've got... 200 in my subs, 400 on the amps, 200 on Wiring I figures...... 150 On my exides... Pretty even, Gonna drop 200 on paint soon, 400 on a singer alt... It's a close call.

definitely more than the car when it's all said and done man. good luck with that coup.... I'm trying really hard to make something work in mine. I decided to do a 12" DC lvl 4 instead of 2 SA-12's. I don't my subs to consume the entire trunk just yet

Spend $6200 on the car, and about $700 on the system. I could go into detail, but I don't feel like it right now.

any audiophile goes through many rebuilds again and again. I didn't include my failures (with the exception of the fuckin bazooka tube SMH) but I feel like a lof of people on here can say that the equipment in their car is worth more than the car itself lol. I need to get some serious dampener for my old ass rattling car lol..... more money to overcome the price of the car... eventually my car will just be a big fuckin subwoofer that I'm driving lol

Dude, my big rebuild I'm planning keeps getting bigger. My budget for subs and speakers was $3k. It's now gotten to about $5k in speakers and subs alone.

$200 for new tires, on a jeep!? Is she stealing them or building them with a heat gun and rubber bands?

You hear that????

That's a category 5 shit storm coming

Ever since I have been creeping on SMD for the last 2 years I have always thought about this factor but I finally decided to make a thread about it. I know you can make and POS vehicle loud so i'm just curious here. The system can always move on, the car is just the carrier

if quality wires weren't so damn expensive then that would save so much more money. I was talking to a buddy who said they spent almost $100 on RCA's for their build and I think that's the most discouraging part of deciding to do a good build. Anyone can do it, it just takes time
