OrionStang
This isn't really an SQ question, but it does have to do with sound quality. With a 6.5"sub, 6.5" mid, and tweeter in each door, how should they be arranged. The tweeter in high on the door int the factory location, so that's set. The sub and mid will be side by side in the bottom front corner of the door. I'm wondering if it would sound better with the mid closer to the listeners, or the sub closer? Here's a quick sketch up, sorry it was real quick. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
HatersGonnaHate
I would assume it would sound better with the mid setup just like you sketched, just as long as it's angled upwards a little bit, just so it's not shooting right at your legs. Robert8252
Either would work. I would probably try sub forward though. Very steep crossover. Opposite what I thought, but wil make the pods easier to build. Yeah Adam, they'll be angled up a little. White Lightning
will you have separate enclosures for each driver in the door ?? Would it seem better to have a single 8" driver in each door to handle mid bass / sub bass duties ?? I want a sort-of 3-way setup that can play down to 30hz without my main sub. On certain songs I think it just sounds better that way. Hell, I can do that with my 6.5" midbass drivers in the doors alone (one in each door) just don't see why you need 2 separate drivers in each door ... but OK ... are you going to port and tune the sub enclosure section ??
