what size fuse to put??

Recommended Posts

Its a good estimate if the amp has built in fuses.

alright cool

cause i have a Power Acoustik BAMF series 5,500

and i know that their amps run hot,

but many people were saying the will barely put out half of what they say.

but with this formula and my electrical, i can put out almost 3k rms

which mean mine is only overrated by 200rms (and i can deal with that haha)

the thickness of the wire is only half of the equation

the length is just as important if not more then the diameter as it is all about voltage drop,

so as long as you know how long you run is you can choose the appropriate wire size and be done with it, no guess work required

Use 4 gauge and don't fuse it. Just hope to yourself that you pop that POS so you can get a decent amp.

You have to fuse the amp wire because if your power wire gets a short it could catch the car on fire if it isnt fused at both ends.

yes but i think your missing my point

You don't have to fuse both ends of the wire, just the side closest to the battery. It's usually preferred within the first 18". Current will stop at that fuse and blow it(or melt it) and not get to the inside of rest of the run of wire, or the electronics inside of the car.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

That is just too funny man lol, especially coming from someone who's system costs WAY WAY WAY more than the car :) (plz keep ur sarcasm to yourself if you're not actually gonna try to help. The other dude didnt miss ur point, he assumed you were more mature than that. guess he was wrong as well. FYI, I got the amp, a pretty decent sealed box and 2 12"Kicker Comps for $80 (seperate wouldve been about $230)This is for my chicks ride bro, get over yourself)

If Morgan Freeman narrated a story on how great AIDS is, I would be captivated and tempted to contract it myself. His voice just fills my soul with warm fuzzies and puppy tears.

He has NO idea and may have a touch of autism to be honest.

Is this guy real or is he joking? i actually mistook him for a lesbian in that demo video

Wanted to mess around with a box for the garage. Was thinking 4 6x9 in 4 cube at like 30 hz...

These are the things that make me lol
