My POS wrapping job

Glassed, bondo'd

Put way too much on and I didn't realize that the smoother you apply it the less work it is to sand it. So I ground it off and put more on

And it was about right now that I realized this tweeter had a "fatal flaw" so I decided I'm not going to put any more work into it. I sanded it about 75% smooth with 120 grit and threw some paint on it.

In case you are wondering: this flaw is regarding the magnets. I made them such a tight fit that the thickness of the extra fiberglass/t-shirt/bondo made it so it didn't "snap" in place. It was held there, but not as well as I'd like

But, it's in my car. And these tweeters sound NICE. Even though I'm scrapping them, it was far from a waste of time. I learned TONS. So the next one should be much better :D

For the passenger side: I tried a bit of a different wrapping technique. I glued the fabric to the inside of the back-piece, so no extra thickness is added to the back-side and my magnets should work as they should

That's all for today. Going to get started on the passenger side one tomorrow and make another back-piece for the driver's side the next sunny day

How are you attaching the pods to the dash?

I'm using some neo magnets. One side is CA glued and screwed into the dash. And the other is fiberglassed into the tweeter pod itself. I can get you a link to the exact magnets I used if need be. They have ~20lbs of pull strength the way I'm using them

Here's a quick video

Even with that issue, I'd say it still turned out pretty nice! Do you have any speaker rings left?

Use a stretchier fleece or other fabric to make that wrap clean, and staple the front or ca the mdf in front. Also to add extra stretch you can put ur scrape piece that was cut out from the center in the pod with aluminum wrapped around it so you can easily pull it back out
