tacobump
I'm gonna do my first build this year and I need to start collecting materialz.... First question: can you wall without destroying interior and keep it able to return to stock Now I'm planning 4 dc xl 15s on two dc 5ks .... how many batts? Upgraded alt obviously .... how many runs of wire.... and what do I need for this set up... I know of capacitors ... are those needed? Also does anyone know any skilled builders for wiring and box and everything in phoenix az
john253a
For a start you'll need 9-1500amp of alt power 1x 0 gauge per 150-200amp of power up front 1 good bat up front if not 2 10-20 batts in rear(depending on what you want to do) I normally do 2 per 0 g wire run but you do 1 and use 5-10 battery As far as back to stock that's no problem just remove all the rear trim panels and seat( whatever you need to) and don't lose them then put it all back when done But you really need a budget with a question like that As the last system I setup with 4k of power cost me 6k to buy and I charged another 1500 to put it in, Batteries and alts are the biggest costs
john253a
But you could get away with 2-3 extra alt and only run 1 5k amp daily and only hook up the second for comps
tacobump
So two alts 5 batts ....
john253a
For 1 5k amp with correct gain settings 600 amps is good for 3600rms @12v or 4200 @14v But you car will require around 40-50amp to run so 3850 @14v and 3300 @12v If you can only afford 2 270 or 300a alt Leave the stock alt and add the 2 as well then you can use all there power

Born_Again
IMO you can get away with one awesome alt and 8+ 3100 batteries. If you can make two alts work it's definately more desirable than one alt and tons of batteries.
