Williamc141
So I was hooking up my sub/amp and I got it all hooked up and started a song my headunit said protect, I took the positive lead off my battery and tried it again and i got the same protect message. I made sure all wires were covered and tried it again but this time I had no power to the headunit. Ive tried fuses,re covering the wires, etc nothing has worked. Im stumped :/

Miguels
check that any speaker wire are touching together. check the head unit ones too Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
ch0sen
pull the head unit out and go to the battery, put the red and yellow on the pos and the black on the neg. see if you get power their, and check the fuse on the back of the headunit while your at it, just in case Quote My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/
Williamc141
Ok, Would the speaker wires prevent power to the headunit?
ch0sen
if they are grounding out or touching than yes. or at least throw it into protect or blow a fuse. Also some headunits require the antenna to be plugged in, idk if this acts as an extra ground or what. deathcards
check all wires for worn spots where it could be grounding out check ground could have come loose, bad/improper ground, check resistance of fuse if it is an open circuit it won't read anything check power wire voltage, worn spots, and connection Quote skar sk2500.1 0 gauge power and ground kunukonceptz alpine HUvxi65 components on BA gt-275new build log -> http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/150642-project-d-kon-deathcards-build-log/#entry2148821 2 x-15 sundowns singer alt, odyssey bat, and maxwell ultra caps
Williamc141
Alright I will check all that. The red power wire for the HU sparked when it hit metal so its getting power, Maybe its a bad ground.
