Mario928
I belive you will have to turn the gain on the amp more. JR2011bu
Higher preout means more power signal sent to amplifier= amp gain set lower = better for less distortion. Just saying. I have a JVC KD-BT1 I bought used for $50 and when i sold my amp to a buddy of mine i left the same settings on it. His Pioneer double din only had 2v preouts so in order for it to sound as loud as when the setup was in my car we had to turn gain up some more. So yes preouts voltage matter when you are looking for less distortion and tunning by ear lol. But if you have a DD-1 or Osco, get either and just set gains using this. Amp is still going to put out same amount of power either way. 8ight
will that cause me to draw more power from the car? No. You set your gain to match your head unit's output. Gain works exactly how the name implies it does, it is how much strength the input signal gains before being sent to the driver. Colin - STAPUFT
But... 4 is bigger than 2!! Nah- like everyone said, you just match your amps to the new RCA outputs. Higher voltage helps with distortion (like has been said) and helps keep voltage up if split to multiple amps.
