Calculating Gain Voltage?

How do I download off of ROE? I can't do it without buying quicktime... =/

EDIT: And what do I use pink noise for?

Pink noise is generally used to tune auditorium type settings. I've seen white noise used in cars more often for tuning. White noise gives equal power for each Hz, while pink noise gives equal power per octave. (Pretty sure it's along those lines).

Download a free version of Quicktime for the ROE downloads.

ok im woundering why you would set your dmm to AC volts? The only place you can find AC volts in a car would be inside of the altanator.

Be a man and learn how to do it by ear.

If your useing it with mids and tweets you would almost be an idiot not to beable to do it by ear.

Subwoofers are the hard part to do by ear.

You can do it man just take your time, find some good quality recordings (4 or 5 good CDs)

and when things start to sound crappy you know the amp is up to high.

Your ears won't lie.

actually "being a man" is doing it with an O-scope. Anything else is just guessing.

I agree but u can use a dmm to measure the voltage output!

A DMM won't show clipping. Just the output ACV. And that doesn't always yield the correct power you're getting from the amp. You would still have to go through and check impedance for each frequency, plug it in, and determine true power output.
