ok after much thinking and reading im ready to decide to run my CVr 15's off my PA3000db at 1 ohm or not.

u see i want them to be loud (which they are) but i dont like my bass settings where they are right now. i have the gain (@ 4 ohm) set over half and the bass on the HU at half. so im thinkin there may be some dirty signal runnin through there (paranoid).

i was reading on here that at best the 3000db does 1600 rms @ 1ohm. so im thinkin thatll make the CVR's sound louder and i can turn down the bass settings on the HU giving me more clear high notes from stock speakers.

now wut im asking from u guys is whether or not u think this is ok to do. i will have the gains way down on everything and i wont be blasting music everyday full tilt. i just want a little louder from wut i have

whuddya think? yay or nay?

well have you done it yet? and if not, remember to properly set the gain on the amp to protect yourself .... i wouldnt recomend just jackin up the gains and powering the subs full tilt,... might end up with cooked woofers...

Use a meter.

I set my gains on my amp to give 800w (40v AC) to my 1600w sub and, uh, I didn't need all of it.

Is set it with my DVD Player volume on max (20) and I can turn it to 7 and hear a slight vibration of the walls in my room at only 0.7v AC.

I'm not saying that my stuff is better than your's just that usually you don't need full tilt.

Also, it could be the box placement and the fact that my walls are sheets of panel board.

I say set it to about 100-200 watts under the max combined and watch for the hot copper wire smell.

If you smell it turn it off let it sit for about an half-hour and turn gains down a titch.
