My old amp blew but I happened to have an extra laying around..

Its an older 2 Channel 600W Sony

I got 2 15" MTX Thunder 4500s in a box already, i'm pretty sure they're wired up at 2 ohms currently, the guy I bought the box off of used liquid nails (something anyway) to help hold the subs in the box i think, when I get home later i'll try pulling them out again.

My question is, what would be the best way, if any, to use my Sony amp with the thunder 4500s - would i be better off bridging and running the amp at 4 ohms even though the subs are wired for 2? or should i not bridge it, and run each sub on its own channel?

I'm probably forgetting something..

Start over man......

Im really not even trying to be a cock.. but... .sell,.. hang on here for a spell........... and then go at it...

I doubt I'd get to much out of the amps & subs as old as they are and a new system isn't too high on my priorities right now, its just nice to have some lows on the 45 min drive to work. :sorry:

are your woofers in seperate boxes? may have better luck bridging that amp to one woofer and giving it its rms. than underpowering both of them.

I don't know why i never thought of bridging the amp and running just one of the subs - currently they are in the same box but the box is split and each sub is sealed in its own section of the box, i'll try that tomorrow and might just knock the box in 2 depending on how it sounds, thanks for the input.
