Yeah something dont add up. No way that he is staying above resting voltage and 25 out of 29 is damn close to full tilt and at .5 that amp will be putting a damn good load on the electrical system.

lol ive seen people drop WAY below 11 on 3k and 5ks and there shit dont clip to much lol. I knew i was gonna get beat up posting this but i just wanna know y my coil is getting this hot this fast in the camaro i drop to 12 and this coil and this amp and the sub wouldnt get a touch hot

Op take a dmm and check your final impedance load. I think you may be at 2 ohms instead of .5 like you think.

Our entire point is that something just isnt right. If everything was setup correctly, then you would have a ton more voltage drop. Something is wired wrong and causing all of these issue.

my mate runs 9k off a stock alt and like 5 batterys..it can be done,(edit: he wont play music for long, jut short bursts maybe 1-2min, but is gonna run a HO soon)

altho i think i read OP had 2 standard alt? correct me if im wrong.

and you can still get very stinky if playing decaf lol iv found this, some songs will, some wont.

could be at 2ohm, but still, dunno why it would get so hot at 2ohm..

And he plays decaf, he will be clipping seeing as how decaf boosts at -5 to -10 db.
