REVOofRustler
Well, Monday will be day 10 of construction of the Fi. So it should hopefully get shipped sometime next week. In the mean time, I just ordered 40 feet of KnuKonceptz Kolossus 8 Gauge OFC wire and 20 ring terminals for speaker wire! I'm startin to get anxious! 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
REVOofRustler
Soooo, I'm not gonna mess with using wood screws to secure the Fi to the box, so I went out and got some threaded inserts and some machine screws. I've seen a few people on here use these things and I was wondering how guys would suggest installing them in the box? I picked up some CA glue from the Hobby Shop, and I know first hand that that stuff is pretty insane glue. So, will that be enough? Or should I look into epoxy? Here's the inserts I'm talking about Any advice is appreciated! 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
revoracing247
well they have the threads on the outside, i'd think that drilling the right sized hole and then using wood glue or the CA glue (that stuff sucks to get off skin) on the outer threads before you thread them in would be enough. just make sure it's a really snug fit when you put them into the box. that's gonna look sweet though with the alen head bolts holding the FI in! That's pretty much what I was thinkin. The allen heads probably won't be visible though. They'll be recessed down in the gasket. 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz

REVOofRustler
do they make star head bolts? just thinking security I could probably find some if I really wanted, but I'm not too worried. Just one of the benefits of livin in a cow town! Anyways, I got a couple extra of the threaded inserts, so I tried the CA glue with one of em on a scrap piece of mdf and it worked very well! The insert wanted to strip before it would even budge! Edit: I also had developed some rattles up in my headliner right around where the driver side visor was, so I dropped the front of the headliner and threw a couple sheets of Damplifier Pro up there and the rattles are gone! Still have 2 sheets left of the stuff! 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
