No voltage drop is ideal IF you truly have that much current capacity.

If you're suspicious of the drop then it may be that you're not drawing as much current as you should on paper.

Need a clamp.

Is there any chance your voltmeter is defective?

Maybe it's not reading correctly?

Also DON'T use an ohmmeter on an energized circuit. Most DMM's (ohmmeter) have protection but certain ones can be damaged.

To measure resistance, DMMs apply a small voltage and measure how much current goes through the device being measured to calculate the resistance.

If the circuit or device is energized, then it will throw off the reading.

I know not to use the dmm method LOL. Voltmeter is fine, tested against another meter at the rear. Need a clamp. I just want to be sure my amp is at its full potential. If my electrical really is holding up that well, I'm gonna drop to .5 ohm.

yeah maybe the impedance rise its high as hell, my 140A alternator and 2 HC1800 electrical a couple of years ago was holding the voltage like a boss, of course, i wan´t as loud as i thought i could be, changed the box and i got 2 louder, and of course, voltage dropped 2 times lower lol

I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Panamenian 2009 & 2010 & 2014 Bass Race 149.9 Champion!

remember its tough to beat science. if you have 400 amps of current draw at 1 ohm and can only recharge 270 you are going to have a voltage drop unless you are getting stupid rise. im not an electrical engineer nor will i claim to be but there are solid formulas used to determine this.

What are you wired to? 2ohms? That's why ...drop that bish to .5 and watch power ,spl, and voltage drop increase.... dd amps make most power at or under 1ohm

Exactly why i'm assuming big time rise guys.

I guess its all irrelevant, as i'm changing the box again anyway. Done chasing numbers in this car.

No, you see the change in resistance through the coils. You can see what I'm talking about if you've got a speaker laying around.... Hook up positive and negative leads to the speaker terminals, push down on the cone and watch the ohms rise.

i didn't know it worked liked that, thanks man

Single d2, wired to one ohm. Adding a second sub and considering .5, also got an SAZ3500 on the way, sold the M3a and Mayhem.
