samorgan4
Hey guys still a new guy around here and wondering if it helps, hurts or doesn't matter if the amp grounds are larger than power supply lines? Ensuring correct power gauge line is selected of course. Thanks
Wicks
Assuming the smallest wire is adequate, larger wire elsewhere never hurts. Keep in mind that the system is still limited by the smallest wire so don't expect too much. SnowDrifter
It will help, not hurt. But this is assuming you have an adequately sized power wire in the first place. Don't shrink it so it's smaller than the ground, that will hurt. IMHO use the biggest wire you can for both power and ground Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
samorgan4
Thanks everyone. 1/0 from the battery. PDX M12 for subs requires 4 gauge. I would have liked to have run 1/0 to the M12 buy it will not fit even with quage reducer. I thought about cutting some of the strands off to get the wire in the slot. Would that work? The other amp PA D4000.4 has a 1/0 adapter so no problem plus I have the 1/0 wire already on hand. You guys are really something! Thanks! SnowDrifter
You could cut it I guess, but what I would do is run the 0 gauge to a distribution block, then run 4 gauge out of that to the amp Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

samorgan4
For the record the sound quest 0 to 4 won't work in alpine pdx power/ ground supply connector due to the geometry off the off sets. Way to go alpine! Thanks for suggestions on the terminal adapters. The stinger adapters won't even come close to fitting in the post. WASTED MONEY WITH GOOD INTENTIONS! dkindle613
The sound quest adapters also will NOT work with a RF T1500.1bdcp. I bought them thinking I can finally run 0 gauge to my amp, but nope, because of the fucking offset on the adapters..
