tuning has to do with port area and the length of the port. for a given box a longer port will lower tuning and a shorter port will raise tuning with the same amount of port area...there is an equation for it that looks intimidating but isnt that bad...check out the enclosure thread i have stickied in the sub section and their is a link in the first post to my tuning calc.

as far as getting ahold of dom...good luck!! his alts kick ass but he is damn near impossible to get ahold of...just keep trying and be patient...

i likes me some audio stuff...

that all depends on the sub, and the size of the enclosure. Some subs do better sealed, some ported.

Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer

well im thinking of going alpine type r's b/c there cheap.

Heres the set-up im probably going w/:

A 3sub wall containing:

2x 12' type r (dual 4)\

|> i decide to go w/ this b/c the req. for the enclosure are small and can fit in the trunk easily

1x 12' type r (dual 2)/

Hifonics BXi 1606d (1600 "claimed" watts rms 1ohm)

Hifonics Bxi 606 (600 "claimed" watts rms 1ohm)

clarion 7band eq

any 4pre-volt+ deck

The type of car is an 08" Hyundai Sonata... with a pretty big trunk

lastly, i would like to know what size alternator i should get to be able to play my music loud at idle speeds. (10-30 mph... and also in park, if necessary)

any advice please leave

I assume your going to series the dual 2 ohm subs to 4 and then parrallel the subs to 1.33 ohms, and and the altinator get the biggest they make for your car. doms email is [email protected]

hw may take a little while to answer but that is only cuzz he is busy as hell but he will come thru for you.

but will the biggest one they make still put out all that power while being in parked or doing idle speeds? That one of the most important thing to me.

my previous post was under the impression that you were just running one sub amp, so disregard it if you like, but they have different alts and youll have to discuss it with dom to see what suits your needs. I cant go to his ebay store from work so I cant see what he has.
