n8ball2013
There was a truck that just got sold i believe, that had 2 18's and 2 15's. Did 150's at any frequency all day long. That sounds pretty legit! um no it doesnt. that guy also didnt listen to anyoen who gave him advice because he thought he knew better than everyone. you want SQ turn it down. but you arent an sq guy you just said you like the lows so you tuned stupid low. Newsflash there is just about zero unaltered music that plays that low. and since thats the class altered music doesnt sound very good 95 percent of all people who claim to be into sq are using it as an excuse that they arent loud and not into the reproducing the music as accurately as possible. Riley Evan Houser
All the music I listen to inst altered. I started this thread just to see who.has done it or what it would be like. No because i'm doing it.or anything like that, so thanks. Gucci Mane plays low, yelawolf. All the music I listen to does. I had a previous box tuned to 35 hz and it hit lows and sounded good but I prefer my box now.which is tuned to 30 hz. I tuned that low so I would peak at a lower frequency, it peaks at 45 hz, i'm not.in competitions. I just like to enjoy my music. Riley Evan Houser
lol ok kid. like i said you have no idea what true SQ is. Alrighty, I'm not an SQ guy, that's completely fine. But what is true SQ? And SPL? I've heard a wide range of answers
notorious97200
So many people telling him it's not a bad thing ?!!! Wow ! don't do it, OP. Don't talk about SQ when all you want is something loud tha can sound good. Maybe, as someone said, you need some better midbass speakers in your front stage. And yes, 29 is really low ! I tune my box around 34 Hz, and it's low enough for my musical taste. I used to tune around 32, but 34 is better for me now ! shorter port, less gross volume, and still got the lows ! (my car has a small hatch area). Quote black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. And by loud I don't/didn't mean decibel wise.. I just mean it hits the lows and sounds good.
LT.Smoke
lol ok kid. like i said you have no idea what true SQ is. Alrighty, I'm not an SQ guy, that's completely fine. But what is true SQ? And SPL? I've heard a wide range of answers To the best of my knowledge SQ is about balance and accuracy along with musical reproduction. I am barely scratching the surface but that is a VERY general definition of SQ Quote Team MaxRetribution Si Vis Pacem Parabellum Id rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 Bowhunting- Life Begins and Ends at Full Draw Bowhunting Team Fatal Trajectory Hunt Team http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/49335-sick96vtecaccords-t-line-build/?hl=sick96vtecaccord << Accord Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/68498-smokedout08impalas-tline-build/?hl=+sick96vtecaccord << Impala T-line build Rebassed.com for all your music needs 👌
Riley Evan Houser
Also, I just looked at the Torres I saved for.my box design and it's tuned to 31hz (my bad)
mrd6
if you are primarily listening to gucci and yelawolf then you do not need to worry about real "SQ" in my opinion. But to your original idea, yes it would "work" there would be music. But you could design a single enclsure around the same goal that would achieve the same results and would sound alot better. The most simple definition of SQ imo is: playing music so that it sounds exactly as the artist intended it to sound.
