Boarhog35
Hey has anyone ever build a box for an 18 or 15 inch sub for really good SQ that still can pound the lows? I have heard about people building SQ subs with 8s and 10s but not too much with 15 to 18 inch subs.

kingsuv
I like a sub with a high motor strength in a well designed ported or BP box Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
bkolfo4
I like ported too, but have a Q 12 in 1 cuft sealed on 800 watts in my wife's car. Loud and awesome SQ. Omega5002
Never liked sealed enclosures, sounds the sub is stuffed, even with high end subs, and you can't really expect to make a box, cut a hole, stick a sub in, and except it to sound good. kingsuv
I think it is important to ask what do you consider SQ in regards to the substage? For me, I am finding out now that I don't like to "hear" the sub but rather feel it add to the overall presence of the music. I think when your ears draw you back when you hear the subs, it's too much in the overall sound of the car. SQ is the exact opposite of what we are looking for in spl.
