Extending 1/0 Wire

Recommended Posts

I currently have a battery mounted in my hatch, but I need to move it. The issue is that the wire isnt long enough.

I want it to go from where it is now

to next to the trunk light (on the right)

How could I do this? I was thinking of running ring terminals on each end of newer power wire and attaching it to the end of the existing power wire with a nut and bolt.. and then just taping it up. Would that be sufficient?

Thanks in advance guys :drinks:

Just get a fuse holder. Put it at the end of the current run, and add on the required length of new 1/0 to get it to the new location. Boom. You're also protected from a short also.

its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies.

Regardless if they were dipped platinum and were stuffed in Beyonce's twat.....way too fucking exspensive

I should also add that I wouldn't do the ring terminal trick. I've tried that before and had issues with it wearing through the electrical tape on edges/corners of the nut and bolt.

What about the kind they use for welding..the disconnects. They make em up to 2/0 I think and they are protected. Let me get the link lol

I thought about that, but thought itd look kinda ghetto.. especially with the ground.

Personally, I'd use something like this and wrap it in some electrical tape

Damn, Im REALLY liking this...

i would run a new run. but if that is absolutly out of the question id use a in line fuse holder. the rings and a bolt should work, but is kind of ghetto imo

A new run is out of the question.

Im liking some of these suggestions :good:

Do what I said for the power run, then run the coupler for the ground.
