Omega5002 Posted August 23, 2012 Report Share Posted August 23, 2012 Since I have very little knowledge of tools, and just learned that there are different types of routers, and that my router is a fixed based router not a plunge router, do you think I can still use a Jasper jig on it with no issues to make speaker rings. bassface Posted August 23, 2012 Report Share Posted August 23, 2012 A plunge router you can adjust the depth of a cut with a knob on the side of it, a fixed router is pre adjusted. As long as you can get that router cut through at least half of the thickness of the mdf you can do it although you may have to flip the board over.
