Jasper Jig, and fixed base router

Since I have very little knowledge of tools, and just learned that there are different types of routers, and that my router is a fixed based router not a plunge router, do you think I can still use a Jasper jig on it with no issues to make speaker rings.

Here's the router btw, craftsman model 315.174710, got it at pawn shop for $30.

Noob question, what's difference between both anyways outta curiosity, like what makes a plunge router easier to work with?

So basically, everytime I wanna change depth,I have to turn off the router, unlock it, adjust it, then go back to cutting? doesn't sound too bad then.

Well, I guess if you guys say it'll still work but it's harder, then I guess I'll just have to be more patient with it then, which I don't mind.
