It is statements like this that just cause more confusion on what "impedance rise" actually is and what it means to people building everyday music systems. . . People should be aware of the facts not my problem if they mis interpret what is stated, plus it is the internetz if we were having this conversation in person it would go a little different and would be able to tell if they understood what I was telling them. If I am a newbie and think you know what you are talking about, your statement tells me to wire at 0.3 ohms on my 1 ohm stable amp and I am ok the majority of the time. . . It's not even science, no matter your electrical not every amplifier will operate at a given load, to think so is just ludicrous. Of course some amplifiers may, but that is not the rule. I agree the electrical plays a role, but it is used too often as a disclaimer for open ended answers. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? Obviously you aren't going to run a kicker amp at .25 ohm and have it survive very long but do that with a dc, dd, sundown, or AQ and if electrical is strong enough to hold voltage up you will be fine. So YES is does determine what you can and can't do. Does the amp give a fuck what ohm it is seeing to keep going? No, it wants that voltage to keep it happy.
