USAFMileHigh
So my Battery is in the back of my Cobalt, and the power wire runs maybe 6 feet (more like 3 if I end up moving the amp to the rear of the box). I have a Hifonics Brutus 1700.1d (running at 1ohm-1700w) and 2 SA-12's. Will the current 4AWG Rockford Fosgate wiring I have be enough? Also, what do you guys recommend for fuse size? (The site recommends 160a, would 150a be ok?) Please no flat "Just go 0 AWG bro" I believe the amplifier only has input for 2ga. If I need to upgrade, what would I fuse the 2ga for and WHAT brand of 2gauge? (since I was having a hard time finding decent 2AWG on Amazon). Thanks for the help links are always helpful
Semper
150a is perfectly fine. Don't bother with 2 gauge, go straight for 0 gauge wiring. New Setup; H/U; Pioneer DEH-80prs. Wiring; 2 runs of 2/0 OFC & Big 3. Subs; 2 D1 DC Level 4s. Monoblock; DC 3.5k. 4 Channel; JBL GTO1004. Highs; Vifa NE25VTS-04. Mids; Aura NS6-255-8A. Alt; 160a. Batts; Optima, KHC1800. I don't think the BRZ1700.1d has input for 0 gauge I had to trim the 12ga kicker speaker wire to get 3 runs into one friggin terminal when wiring it to 1ohm haha. Jessica
What does that thing have for an alternator and what do you have for batteries? Not an AGM battery if that is what you are asking. 140a stock alternator if I remember correctly.
Jessica
140a should be pretty close to what you need, might want to add a batt or two. here read this Wire/Fuse Guide - SMD Forum Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. Is it ok if I get for example some KnuKonceptz 0AWG wiring and trim it a bit to fit into the amplifier? Would I still use a 150a fuse or should I go to 200? imnew59585
do the big 3. and if im right 4ga is ok but not the best and if you can't run 0 to the amp you can buy converters , but thats my opinion

And what converters are you talking about?
imnew59585
they are like power cable reducer it will take 0 g to 4g but it mite not work cause of your inputs being angled but it depends on how your amp is mounted
