Vooloco Posted September 4, 2012 Author Report Posted September 4, 2012 HELP!!!! I might have messed up... I ordered 2 SSD 12s that have dual 1 ohm. The amp is a crescendo BC2000D and will the amp run 2 1ohm subs? My friend was telling me that if you hook up 2 1 ohm subs to an amp it reduces the resistance to .5 ohms and the amp is not .5 ohm stable. Or is my frined wrong. Should of I got 2 2 ohms?????
wcefai Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 You actually did the right thing ordering dual 1 ohm subs. Dual 1 means that each sub has two voice coils at one ohm. So you wire both the voice coils on each sub in series making each sub come to 2 ohm. Then wire the subs in parallel to the amp bringing the total to a 1 ohm load
