bigtrav101
Is there any major difference between the 2 amps? I've had my BD1500 since 2004 and it is still getting down like no other! So one of my subs just blew and I'm debating on updating my entire system. I've been debating on upgrading to the newer model or possibly the t20001bd if I could find one for a decent price not all beat up and getting either 2 15" FI SSDs or 2 Rockford 15" T1s. Would it be worth the switch from my bd1500 to the t15001? Other than the 1 ohm stability?
412 CVX
from my understanding the main difference is the "constant power", which i believe means it does the same amount of power regardless of impedance rise. make sure your amp isn't clipping though. otherwise you're bound to blow another speaker. Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid. MrClean636
The CP or constant power amplifier allows for an equal amount of power output at either a 1 or 2 ohm load. The main difference is 1-ohm produces a little more output power but 2-ohm is way more efficient. I had the 2500bdCP and got two dual 2-ohm subs so I could run the amp at a 2-ohm load for more efficiency. If your keeping your voltage up with the current amp, I don't see any reason to upgrade, only upgrade if you want to go say.. to the 2500bdCP Below is right from Rockford's site regarding the new 1500bdCP: T1500-1bdCP 1549 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohms @ 74.6% Efficiency 1715 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm @ 63% Efficiency Car: 2011 Ford Taurus SEL / Alt: DC Power 270XP (Will be here 7/17!!!) bigtrav101
You know I thought about the T2500 but I'd really need to upgrade my alternator and stuff then right? It's going in my 72 Cutlass which has like a 37 amp stock alternator I believe. I used a yellow top with the BD1500 and it's been pretty good.... alaskanzx5
the 1500.1bd is rated below 1500 watts at 2ohm yes but the bdcp version is rated at 1500 watts at 2 ohms. the bd does rated at 1ohm while the bdcp does rated at both 2 and 1 ohm. rockford also does there testing at 12.2 volts which is cea complaint and then they do more at 14.4 volts which is ideal for running any amp basicly. so in other words the 1500.1bdcp will do more at 2ohms then the 1500.1bd but im not sure of the rating on the 1500.1bd at 14.4 volts at 1ohm. the 1500.1bdcp is also more effecient at 2ohms then the 1500.1bd and so if your looking at running at 2ohms the 1500.1bdcp will be better no doubt but if running at 1ohm the 1500.1bd could be better but only if it has better effeincy and does more power at 14.4 volts then the 1500.1bdcp t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
