SMZ2 Posted September 2, 2012 Author Report Posted September 2, 2012 Are you just trying to seal up your port to make it a sealed box? If so, that would be a waste of plexi. Heck no man haha I have a 6th order I'm just changing it from firing up to a firing forward port. And yes it is 1/2" lexan My Build Log!http://www.stevemead...nissan-xterror/ Check the Youtube Channel for Updates!http://www.youtube....ser/Xterror2002And Seller Feedbackhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/163179-bought-from-smz2/#entry2363713

bassface Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 You can buy quarter sheets of mdf, you dont need a full sheet. Can you buy it like this at lowes because I've only seen full sheets before... Home depot has 1/4 sheets of 3/4" mdf, they are usually in the baseboard/trim section, I buy them all the time. Not sure about lowes though.
SMZ2 Posted September 3, 2012 Author Report Posted September 3, 2012 This is what needs to be sealed up the other side is going to be the new port. 412 CVX Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 If it's lexan, then i'd double up on it and try it. I know there's a special glue out there that bonds the stuff at a chemical level, couldn't tell you what it is or where to get it though. maybe a quick google search would yield some results. Out of curiosity though, how do you plan to attach the lexan to the box? Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs. My temp system build log More box buildssome cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches! I'm with captain stupid.

And to attach it to the box I was thinking screws, fiberglass mat, and liquid nail. The seams will be painted over anyway... bassface Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Normally people use the acrylic/lexan to highlight a particular feature inside the box, like the subs. What is the reason you are wanting to use the plastic?
SMZ2 Posted September 3, 2012 Author Report Posted September 3, 2012 Normally people use the acrylic/lexan to highlight a particular feature inside the box, like the subs. What is the reason you are wanting to use the plastic? Because I am going to put logos of what I'm running on it and throw in some leds to add a cool effect and if I have access to some free lexan why not you know? Just trying to make it look showy you know.
